Improvement update for Freehold
We recently consulted with you about our plans to improve the security of the Freehold area. A big thank you to everyone who came along to one of our drop-in events, completed our online survey, or spoke to a member of the RBH team. We want to update you about what happens next.
As a result of your feedback, we are now undertaking some more work on "option one" which was the preferred design from the consultation events and survey.
All the options we looked at during the consultation were designed with three main goals:
- improving security and access to homes by creating zones focused around existing stairwells
- creating a new entrance feature to each zone
- creating better refuse and recycling facilities
The preferred design option included a mix of brickwork and railings, and new plants to add greenery.
We are working with an architect to develop the design and prepare a planning application. In addition to the security measures around the stairwells, this will include essential improvement works to the walkways and flooring.
We hope to submit the planning application in September and we will make sure that we keep you updated on any progress.
Our community drop-in sessions are an opportunity to meet with members of your RBH Neighbourhood Team in person. There's no appointment needed, and you can get help and support with a variety of things, including reporting repairs, paying your rent, dealing with damp and mould, tackling anti-social behaviour, and much more.
You can also simply pop in and see us for a chat and a brew!
At every drop-in you will be able to talk to a member of our Engagement Team and one of your local Neighbourhood Housing Officers, plus your Income Officer and a Money Advisor. No appointment or booking is required, just drop in and say hello.
Our Freehold drop-ins take place on the final Friday of the month (10am until 4pm) at the Freehold Annex, Olney, OL11 4LQ.
