The fight against organised crime in Freehold took another positive step this week after we secured a county court injunction against a resident involved in drug related criminal activity.

The judge handed down a two-year injunction against Anthony Shaw, aged 59, of Hartlebury, Freehold. Mr Shaw will be arrested if he breaches the terms of the injunction, which include preventing him from storing offensive weapons, engaging in or threatening behaviour likely to cause harm or nuisance, and storing, using, or possessing illegal drugs or drug paraphernalia.

Our team have worked closely with colleagues at Greater Manchester Police (GMP) to secure this injunction. Earlier this year, GMP executed a warrant at Mr Shaw's property, and evidence from this warrant was crucial in securing the injunction.

We’re absolutely committed to improving our communities, and a crucial part of this is having zero tolerance for crime and anti-social behaviour – taking strong action whenever a report is made to us. We're pleased to be able to work closely with our partners, including Greater Manchester Police, to tackle organised crime and make our communities safer. This injunction helps us to meet our goal of making sure Freehold is a safe neighbourhood that our customers are proud to call home.

As well as utilising injunctions and closure order notices on nuisance tenants and properties, we are working closely the community to ensure they are safe and feel safe. We need our communities to be our eyes and ears on the ground, if you see anything suspicious, or you see an individual breaching their injunction, report it to us so we can take action.
