Kevin has held senior positions across local, regional and central government including spells with the Department for Education and Skills, Government Office for the North West and as Deputy Chief Executive, Salford City Council. He has worked as an independent consultant across the public and private sectors. Kevin has extensive board level experience across the public, private, not for profit and higher education sectors and which included chairing a large charity. Kevin is a non-executive  director with Together Housing Group Common Board, an independent member of Yorkshire Housing Audit and Risk Committee and serves as an independent member of Transport for the North  Audit and Governance Committee. He is a resident of Rochdale.
